Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search box is sent to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the request and supplies its result. We do not keep a separate log or database of the query terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email may be retained long enough to answer and maintain the related correspondence. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal duty.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, servers can receive routine technical information about the visit:
- Page-view times and time spent on visited pages
- Your device's assigned IP address
- Browser name and version
- Operating system and device category
- A referring website, when one exists
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files saved by a browser. They and analytics services help combine traffic information, such as popular pages and common exit points. Browser controls can block cookies, although doing so may change how some site functions behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Routing a search request to the selected provider
- Maintaining reliable site speed and availability
- Diagnosing errors and other technical faults
- Learning which content visitors use most
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
No personal criminal-record database is compiled, maintained, or sold by this site. The content identifies where Sumner County records may be requested, including Sheriff Records, the criminal courts, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation repository, and the Tennessee Sex Offender Registry. Visitor information is not assembled into third-party criminal files or consumer reports, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies supply the search-box services. Their privacy policies, retention periods, and sharing rules apply to information entered there. We do not control those terms, so review the provider's policy before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links lead to Sheriff pages, court systems, Tennessee agencies, legal resources, and outside search tools. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination's own privacy terms control. Review them before providing personal information.
Some advertising providers may use activity across websites to tailor ads. That processing takes place through their systems.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be available to:
- Analytics providers measuring traffic and performance
- Search providers processing a submitted query
- Advertising networks serving material on the pages
- Government or law enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, standard safeguards are used for collected information. No internet service can guarantee perfect protection, so we cannot promise that unauthorized access or a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
The service is intended for adults, and personal information from anyone under 18 is not knowingly collected. If such data is identified, a request may be made for its deletion.
Your Data Rights
The Tennessee Public Records Act at TCA sections 10-7-501 et seq. governs access to government records, while TCA sections 38-10-101 and 38-10-102 address TBI criminal-history communication and reporting. Those laws do not turn this private site's visitor data into a county record. Subject to applicable law, a visitor can:
- Request correction of inaccurate personal information
- Ask what personal information is held
- Seek deletion of personal information
- Object to certain forms of processing
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised. A new version will be posted here and identified by its effective date, so visitors can review the current terms.
